Hi Everyone – It’s official, I got a new baby brother on February 23. Makaio Thomas! It’s taking some adjustment on my part, but I do welcome him with lots of love! Mom’s says that I am a very good helper! Here’s a picture of us on the day he came home. (2/25/09)

Oh, Keilani you are a wonderful sister. Makaio will take care of you if you take care of him. Families are forever. Can’t wait to see you in a few weeks. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter. Kiss your brother and mommy and daddy for us. Remember to always smile and always look up.

Dear Miss KeiKei:
I have a little advice for you, from one big sister to another.
1. He will want to do everything you do. This is annoying for a while, but it will be hilarious when you start wearing makeup.
2. It is your job to come up with his first nickname. It will probably stick for a very long time, so make sure it’s a good one.
3. During these formative years, you can easily shape his perception of you. He’ll be bigger than you someday, but, if you work hard now, he will NEVER KNOW IT.
I know you’re going to be a great big sister (just like you mom). Makaio is lucky to have such a smart and loving girl to look up at. (Eventually, he will look up *to* you. But right now you’re kind of a blur.)
Lots of love,
Jen

Hi Jen,
Wow, what great advice! Mom printed it out so I could review it over and over again. Very nice to hear from you. Hope you are doing good … and plan to visit soon
